Our Programs
We are working to plan FREE outdoor experience trips for women & girls. Our planned trips currently include camping, hiking, and climbing, and will take place in various locations throughout the United States (primarily on the West Coast). If you are interested in attending, helping to facilitate, or helping to support, one of these trips, please reach out to us at hike2healsf@gmail.com.
what are the goals of these experiences?
-
To help women & girls struggling with depression and/or anxiety, or who are in the later stages of eating disorder recovery, reach a place of full and lasting recovery in part through a relationship with the outdoors
-
Promote SAFETY and HEALTH above all-else
-
Provide women & girls with a community of like-minded females to support each other, as well as role models who will provide concrete examples of recovery and a healthy mind & body relationships
-
Promote diversity and inclusion in the outdoors by allowing all women to attend these trips at no cost, and to provide them with concrete skills to allow them to continue to experience the outdoors in the future

who can attend these experiences?
-
Any women or girl! Each individual trip will have a slightly different demographic; i.e. some may be tailored to younger girls, and some to older women, but we are working to accommodate all ages, classes, sexual orientations, & races of women
-
We are working to ensure that cost is not an obstacle! All trips will be free, so that cost is not a barrier to entry
-
No outdoor experience necessary! We want to make the outdoors accessible to everyone
-
There will be an application process involved. If you are interested in applying, please send an email to hike2healsf@gmail.com

what will the experiences be like?
-
These outdoor experiences will help women & girls learn, or solidify, camping, hiking, climbing, and other outdoor skills
-
They will be community-based, with group sessions that promote open and honest discussion as well as a safe space to discuss issues related to recovery and healing
-
They will be facilitated by an experienced leader, as well as planned and reviewed by registered dietitians, therapists, and experienced outdoorswomen so that they are SAFE and HEALTHY
